About Designs By Origami

About our Founder & Team!

Designs by Origami is a boutique, hands-on residential design team led by founder Patricia, who brings a civil engineering background and a passion for residential design. Since 2022, she has designed 50+ ADUs, along with remodels, additions, and custom homes.


Our small but mighty team includes Coleen, Lead Designer; John Mark, Senior Designer; Jean, Designer; and Lorenzo, Permit & Project Coordinator. Together, we help homeowners turn their ideas into thoughtful, practical plans while making the design and permitting process feel a little easier from start to finish.

Since 2022, our team has designed 60+ ADUs and numerous residential remodels, home additions, garage conversions, and custom homes throughout the Bay Area. We specialize in thoughtful residential design, permit-ready plans, and permit coordination to help homeowners bring their projects from concept to approval.

We keep residential design simple and personal. You’ll work with a dedicated team that understands your project from the initial measurements and design through drawings, consultant coordination, and permitting.

Matterport-Powered Site Documentation

We incorporate Matterport technology into our as-built process to digitally capture existing conditions, layouts, and spatial details. This gives our design team a detailed reference of your home while preparing accurate as-built plans and existing condition drawings.
